First Responder Airway Skills Program
Airway Skills at SimTiki

November 19-21, 2007

SimTiki hosted an interdisciplinary airway skills program for JABSOM Medical Students, City and County of Honolulu Paramedics, US Army Medics, Nurses, and Physicians.

Multiple airway management techniques were available for participants to practice and enhance skills. We featured supraglottic, endotracheal, and endoscopic techniques. Some of the methods included were video laryngoscopy, laryngeal mask airway, King Laryngeal tubes, Bonfils scopes, light wand devices for airway management. The Autopulse device for CPR provided practice for airway management during CPR.

Faculty from as far away as Kaimuki (Len Nelson MICY - from KCC) and Pittsburgh (Paul Phrampus MD - from UPMC/WISER) provided expert facilitation.

Program support was generously provided by Karl Storz, Lifescience Resources/Zoll and LMA
